Courtney lived with her parents through various phases of their divorce when she was seven years old. Jennifer is her elder sister, is a marketing executive. She was a student at Menlo Atherton High School (Atherton Calif.) and Tamalpais High School (Mill Valley, California) and graduated in 1985. In high school she also appeared in the Ensemble Theater Company of Mill Valley.
